Previous research data, has indicated that irrespective of using Internet the MIE children are not able to create an email account on their own. This article, currently only available in Dutch is about the spreading of music of the internet in digital form on the internet. This is a phenomena that has spread across the world in the last couple of years. People can quickly choose, download and listen to music from behind their computers. People do not need to go to music shops and the music industry is in chaos over this (Cohen, 2001). Music is available on the internet in different formats, in zipped or unzipped wave formats, in partiture form and in MIDI form. Through commercial and non-commercial channels the digital music is being put available to the users of the internet as downloadable data, partial files on news groups and in other usable forms on "peer-to-peer" networks (Rupp & Estier, 2003). But where are these developments going to? What kind of impact will these new technologies have on music making and spreading? And what will the music industry look like in one or two decades?
